Sunday Morning Peace
Glad summertime is graced with artistry
of flowers in multi-rhythmed tracery
Like fragile balls of white and purple phlox,
and blushing faces of tall HOLLYHOCKS.
Long spears of foxglove reaching high
And meadow DAISIES
laughing at the sky;
Bright flares of asters, charming and sedate,
and shy PETUNIAS by the garden gate.
Red roses throwing perfume to the breeze
While honeysuckle caters to the bees.
And four o-clocks tell when the day is done.
These are the strokes of life and hope, the lines
Glad summertime artistically designs.
