Serious Wednesday: A Taste of Readers' Thoughts About Hunter's Rose

Hunter's Rose, Book Two of the Troubles in the West series.  my newest published book, according to readers, is a delightful read. Here are some of their thoughts:

WOW, this book was captivating from the very first chapter.

I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys Christian Suspense Romance books. FANTASTIC BOOK!

Wonderful read and I hope you take the time to read both books.

Any time I pick up a book by Carole Brown, I know I will enjoy it, and this book lived up to my expectations. The suspense and danger in this book kept me reading. I found the characters captivating and the storyline powerful. Love and friendship highlight the pages of this book. I also appreciated how the story took some twists and turns. So if you enjoy Christian suspense novels, check out this book for yourself.

You won’t want to put down this incredible story, filled with intrigue, kidnapping and more.

If you like plenty of action within a parallel newlywed western, then Carole Brown’s storytelling of “Hunter’s Rose” is about as perfect as can be obtained.

Serious Wednesdays: Do You Long for More Reviews?

book reviews free
Do you long for more reviews?
Here are a few steps that may help you land a few more professional reviews.
Remember that this is a professional business
and when approaching reviewers and book review sites, act professional.

  • Try for a personal note by greeting the reviewer by name. If you're looking on a site or blog for requirements, etc., then search until you find that name. Address them as "Dear Mr/Mrs/Ms Brown." rather than the generic one of "Dear Madam" or "Dear Sir." Not only does this show some diligence on your part in knowing the reviewer's name, but is a sign of respect.
  • Don't overdo the familiarity. Keep it simple in the first sentence by stating your name and the title of your book. When you end your letter, sign it simply as
    "Sincerely."
  • In your letter, include a word count for an e-copy of your book. If you're sending a print book, a page count is fine. This will clue in the reviewer on the time frame.
  • Include a short synopsis and book blurb. Make it interesting and one that captures the reviewer's attention. You'll want him/her panting to read your book!
  • Also, you'll need to mention the genre of your book. Be specific. If it's a "who-done-it" then make sure you state that its a mystery. Thriller? Then the reviewer will be expecting a fast-paced read. By not following through correctly with this, can give the reviewer cause to mention it negatively in your review. Be diligent!
  • If you have a time frame when the book will be published or promoted, then by all means include this. If, as many authors have, no time frame demand, then ignore it. This will help the reviewer decide if he has the time to read and review it.
  • If you're emailing your request, on the subject line, keep it simple and short. Book review request should do the job.
Be polite and respectful, keep it simple, and provide the details the reviewer needs to decide if he has the time and if she's interested.

Hoping for more reviews for YOU!

Reviews! Reviews!

I LOVE to share when a great writer has a new book. Nike Chillemi is one such person. I delight in sharing my reviews with you, and hope you'll give her books a chance read. You may find you'll love them enough to venture into more of them!
That Special One by Nike N. Chillemi

THAT SPECIAL ONE
When young adult Ivy Chambers heads to college life to escape home life, she vows to never have a relationship that is not "true love." But it happens, and Ivy is heartbroken! Ultimately, Ivy is pulled between two young and likable men. Add to the mix suspicious fires, troubling memories, and the pitfalls of a new scene, and Ivy has her young hands full weaving her way through the mix.

This book will pull readers back into their own past of insecurities and problems. You will root for young Ivy and learn to love all of the secondary characters that help make any book better.

I highly recommend this book. Chillemi is an author to follow.

Harmful Intent: The Veronica "Ronnie" Ingels/Dawson Hughes Trilogy, Book One by [Chillemi, Nike N.]

HARMFUL INTENT

What fun!  A crime fiction book!

Chillemi brings to life the characters in her books, and Ronni Ingels is one to root for.

Crushed at the betrayal of her best friend forever and her LOVED husband's compromising "love," Ronni has another tsunami wave hitting her when she's the lead suspect in said "loved" husband's murder. Fortunately, Ronni is nothing if not an excellent, hands-on detective. From Ronni's funny comments, thoughts, and detective skills to Deputy Sergeant Dawson Hughes strong personality and by-the-books work, these two make an excellent couple of detectives.

Exexpected packages, blind alleys that lead no where, a stubborn detective who irritates the other constantly, and a smidgen of interest in the other all make for a draw-you-in book that will have you reading long after you should have been in bed. Nike's characters are strong, likeable, and often times quirky and funny, who you'll root for--or hate, her plots are twisted and interesting, and the danger and grit are the real-meat of any true crime fictionistic reader.

Highly recommended!

I Married an Idiot by Elaine W. Miller

Wow. What a wonderful, heart-touching devotional book.

I loved the title the first time I heard it. And now that I’ve read the book, I can’t say enough good about it. The ten valid reasons men and women can change about his/her marriage are thought-provoking. Every chapter was easy to read, understand and practical and was priceless with down-to-earth illustrations, some funny and many sad, but all real in today’s world. Every meditation was filled with appropriate scripture. Every reflection was icing on the chapter cakes, the added touch to bring home the truth. Each prayer rich with pleadings a sincere heart can pour out to God. And the suggestions in the Change sections? Brings to mind the words: Go forth and be fruitful. Powerful acts that can and will create results.

I highly recommend this book for ALL marriages. It’s never to late to fall in love again. It’s never too early to determine to keep that love preeminent in a new marriage. By all means buy this book. By all means share with your family and friends.

The Cuban Christian Writer: Redemption, Encouragement, and Restoration Stories
    by Roberto Ornan Roche

This is a book of heart-touching stories and devotional-type writings filled with truth and love and scriptural behaviors for which every Christian should strive.

    Some of my favorites include:

Sand in My Eyes: admonished us to live a godly life. Don’t ignore the warnings about free thinking and living without regard, a careless and self-centered existence. The end comes too quickly and afterwards we must meet a loving God who is also a just one.

The Friendship’s Secret: A joke conceived by one man upon his best friend is carried throughout a life time. In the end of these two lives who was the winner? A truly wonderful story with a well, thought out ending.

The Last Sheep: What a marvelous encouragement to all Christians who yearn for a loved one and/or family member who has not yet returned to Christ! My heart was touched to not give up hope, but continue with words of gentleness and hope to those yet lost for is not Christ’s longing for that one much greater than our own?

I believe you’ll enjoy this lovely little book from our Cuban brother. Catch a copy of it on Amazon.

    Review of Robert Elmer's
    Wildflowers of Terezin

    From the cover:
When nurse Hanne Abrahamsen impulsively shields Steffen Petersen from a nosy Gestapo agent, she's convinced the Lutheran pastor is involved in the Danish underground. Nothing could be further from the truth. But truth is hard to come by in the fall of 1943, when Copenhagen is placed under Martial law and Denmark's Jews-including Hanne-suddenly face deportation to the Nazi prison camp at Terezin, Czechoslovakia. Days darken and danger mounts. Steffen's faith deepens as he takes greater risks to protect Hanne. But are either of them willing to pay the ultimate price for their love?

    My thoughts:
This love/realistic story takes place in one of my favorite time periods: World War II. And though I found the beginning slow and both main characters, at first, hard to fall in love with, I enjoyed reading about Steffin's quick change of character once he decided to become involved.

Hannah's determination to stay, instead of escaping from the Nazies was touching, and I liked her determination to do what she felt she should. The romantic interest between Stephen and Hannah caught my attention too. From the first there was a connection that circumstances in their lives prevented them from acting upon that interest, yet it developed gradually. I believe it was this interest that gave Stephen the courage to act upon what he knew was the right thing: getting involved in helping the Danish Jews to escape persecution.

I enjoyed reading about the Terezin camp where Hannah was eventually deported to, and her activities there. The fact that she received letters from Stephen and his efforts to send medical supplies, although phifered by the Nazies, helped to give the whole story a real purpose.

Why did Robert Elmer title his book Wildflowers of Terezin?
Well, I won't say, but if you get this book, the answer is within the pages.
This story will stay with me for a long time and gave me a completely different view of World War II.

    Blessings!
