Rambling Friday: Is This Stay-at-home Situation Just Too Hard?

Is it?

That depends on your outlook. You see, I'm kind of like a bouncy ball. I tend to dip from one side to the other, but I never (usually) stay depressed too long. The reason being: I like sunny, positive, bright things in life. Trouble, disappointments, arguments, etc. do not have a high level of enjoyment in my way of thinking. I dislike disharmony VERY much. So I normally overcome any efforts from the enemy by looking for positivity.

  • So cold, bad weather affects my mood.
  • So does not seeing my family or friends, including my sons, grandsons, and having one son have to leave to work in another state in an essential situation.
  • Remodeling and having my home a mess didn't help the situation much.

What did I do that helped me overcome this?

  • Dig deeper into the scriptures.
Romans 8:35-39 speaks so powerfully to me!! Who shall separate us from the love of God? We are more than conquerors!  Nothing shall be able to separate us from the love of God!

What power! What assurance! I can rest in this promise!

And then Philippians 4:19 promises that God will supply all my need. Need I worry? Need I stress or fret or grumble? Not at all.

He's my supplier, my loving Father, my all. He's got this and I can turn it over to HIM!

  • Stay active.
I've been able to purposely focus on my writing and completing my next novel. This is especially meaningful because of the drought of writing inspiration I went through all of last year.

I can also pick up projects that I've neglected because of too much "other" stuff I needed to do. Whether it's hobbies or work projects, decorating, sewing, or whatever, doing these things has kept me positive.

Enjoy life. Photography, walking, grandson interactions, and many other things have given me joy for each day. I'm alive, healthy and busy. That's worth a lot and gives me a smile.

So, yes, the STAY-at-Home order could be draining, but if I focus on the good things of life, the opportunities that I have, the increased time I have, and so much more, then I have much to be thankful for.

And I am.

How are you dealing with this?

Stay positive!
