Now let's see what she has to say about her newest book!

Within Golden Bands
by Norma Gail

Within Golden Bands was a long time coming. Life often interferes with our plans in ways we never imagined. Six years following the first book in my A Home for My Heart series, Land of My Dreams, the sequel will release on May 19th. The book stands alone, but almost all the beloved characters are back. This is an exciting return to the misty, emerald Scottish Highlands, which stole my heart when we visited in 2006.

This book is the story of my heart. You see, I have been waiting too, through many family and personal situations. When I finished, I knew God had given me the story. Sometimes, when an author sits down to write, the characters act on their own, new people pop up from nowhere, and events appear on the page almost before they enter the writer’s mind. Such was the case for Within Golden Bands.

As the mother of two adopted children, the topics of infertility and adoption are close to my heart. More of that emotion remains inside me than I knew, and though it isn’t my story, it fits the mold of the anguish couples feel when a family doesn’t come easy. Such decisions can place a lot of pressure on a marriage. When those emotions are compounded by attacks that threaten not only the livelihood but the lives of the characters, it brings unimaginable pressure on a newly married couple.

It is my intention to write in a way that reveals how faith in God carries us through any trial we face and brings us out stronger on the other side. Kieran and Bonny MacDonell know what the Bible says about marriage but they must learn to apply it when their hearts are bleeding and someone wants them dead.

Book Blurb:
Newly married Bonny MacDonell finds the transition from American college professor to Scottish sheep farmer’s wife more difficult than she expected. When her miracle pregnancy ends in a devastating miscarriage, she fears her husband's reaction will hurt more than the loss of their child.

But Kieran never shows up at the hospital. When found, he is beaten and unconscious. The only memory of his attacker is the words, “Get off my land.” Reeling from the threat to her husband and the loss of their child, Bonny struggles to hold her marriage together. When faith in love is not enough, where do you turn?
