WITH MUSIC IN THEIR HEARTS

Book One

The Spies of WWII series

What's it about?

Angry at being rejected for military service, Minister Tyrell Walker accepts the call to serve as a civilian spy within his own country. Across the river from Cincinnati, Ohio, a spy working for a foreign country is stealing secret plans for newly developed ammunition to be used in the war. According to his FBI cousin, this spy favors pink stationery giving strong indications that a woman is involved.

He’s instructed to obtain a room in the Rayner Boarding House run by the lovely, spunky red-haired Emma Jaine Rayner. Sparks of jealousy and love fly between them immediately even as they battle suspicions that one or the other is not on the up and up.

While Tyrell searches for the murdering spy who reaches even into the boarding home, Emma Jaine struggles with an annoying renter, a worried father (who could be involved in this spy thing), and two younger sisters who are very different but just as strong-willed as she is.

Will their love survive the danger and personal issues that arise to hinder the path of true love?

Rambling Friday: Mouse...or Cat?

The question was...

should I use a MOUSE (my intended creature) in the first book of The Nursery Rhyme series:

Catch Me If You Can or...

a CAT? Especially a special cat, like a Savannah cat?

Because an editor suggested women don't care for mice (really?), I took a poll. sigh. It was decided (by me) that another creature would be best for the story. So I did some research. Then some more. I finally decided if I was going to use a CAT, then I wanted to know the personalities, and well, more about them. I considered a couple different ones. Then I ran into the article about Savannah cats. How sociable, how intelligent, and their unique personalities, and I was convinced!

A Savannah cat was the choice. It made perfect sense. Having two older brothers (well, one is a twin), who liked to tease her (like, all the time), giving her a Savannah cat would be the ultimate tease for a sister who was loved by both brothers and a grandfather.

Hence...meet BOET! And I'm dearly afraid he may end up being the star of the book!

Serious Wednesday: A New Day, A New Series: Raisins for Racy

What fun it is to sleigh tonight...No! I meant, write a book...

Seriously, I just began a new series in Children's Books, called The Character Traits. The first book is titled:  Raisins for Racy:  Unselfishness.

These fun books are for younger children who, with their parents guiding them, will learn about Character Traits that will encourage them to strive to make the traits a part of themselves.

In Raisins for Racy (the rabbit), he so loves raisins that he refuses to share with anyone and even goes so far as to steal them. He thinks its funny to see everyone so upset until one day Racy comes face to face with his selfishness...and what do you think happens?

Find the book here to learn how little Racy learns that sharing is the best option.

I think children and even parents will enjoy this cute book!

BAT CRAZY -- COMING!

Monster-sized bats with red eyes that attack humans?
Nah. At least Denton doesn't think so.

But when RV trouble forces them to stop at a dilapidated town called West Santina,
Alex and Denton find themselves right in the center of a dangerous plot.
With one attempted murder and a murder on their hands, they're hard pressed to trust anyone.

Could it be the back-slapping mechanic who definitely isn't what he seems?
Or maybe the grouchy mayor is behind all the random acts of violence?
Or it could be the supervisor of the newly opened caverns?
She's snotty and unfriendly and blames everything on her assistant Anne.

The Bat Clan and all the teen-aged batlins.sure are creepy.
Their crazy activities are enough to cause anyone some sleepless nights.

Bones and bats, painted symbols and hooded figures.
A wheezing worker and a cavern guide who wants help but isn't very helpful
are the least of the Davies trouble in their new adventure in New Mexico.

COMING SOON!
