Serious Wednesdays: The gift of Giving

This is the season of giving...or so the saying goes. It's the Christmas season, the season where we celebrate the gift of God to humans--his only son, Jesus.

Does it have to be expensive to be of worth? Absolutely not. I believe the thing is: give from the heart. If the gift has meaning to you, if the gift is one you know will be appreciated or is needed, if the gift is given with love, then that is true giving.

• Meaning:  God's gift of Jesus had meaning--it was his ONLY son. A sacrifice. 
• Needed:  Humans NEED God's salvation through Jesus
• Love: For God so loved us, he gave his only son to save us. 

Let us give from the heart, not especially the most expensive item, but with love...that, I'm sure, will be the best gift ever. 

Remember:  The Gift of God! 

Sunday Morning Peace

It Might be Winter. . .

. . . but you can have sunshine in your heart!

Here's a few thoughts that can help cheer 

the winter blues away . . .

* Pass around a few hugs! 

It will bring a few smiles to others' faces

and maybe, your's too!

* Write a review for an author:

Pure gold for them!

* Pray for someone different today.

Yes, we all have our personal lists of friends and family.

This month, make it a point to add someone else. 

Will do them good and possibly you too!

* Try something new and fun this month.

Pick up a hobby or begin an exercise routine.

Take a short trip to relax even if it's the city park.

Have fun!

* Give away something.

Yeah, an extra thank you or an extra nice tip to a clerk, waiter, or server.

Choose something you never use, don't even need, and give it to someone 

as a little pick-you-up gift

or to Goodwill.

Give someone a few minutes of your time with a phone card, 

a thinking-of-you card, or a smile.

You never know what it will mean to the other person!

You'll be blest.

I guarantee it!

One Flaw in Women

They stand up to injustice.
They don't take no for an answer.
When they believe there is a better solution, they find it.

They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.
They love unconditionally.

They cry when their children excel.
And cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve over the loss of a family member.

Yet they are strong when they think there is no strength left.
They know that a hug and a kiss can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all sizes, shapes, and colors.

They'll drive, fly, walk, run, or email you to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope, and love.
They have compassion and ideas.
They give moral support to their family and friends.

Women have vital things to say.
And everything to give.

However . . .
If there is one flaw in women, it is that they forget their worth.
