Rambling Friday: Happy New Year!

 A New Year for...

Passionate Writing!

Aim high, dream big

Follow your heart,

Follow your dreams.

Use your talents,

use your creativity,

don't let it go to waste!

whatever it is.

Spend time in prayer,

Spend time in pondering,

Spend time in planning,

Spend time in writing!

There are all kinds of possibilities,

Allow yourself to be what God wants you to be!

Never shirk--no matter what our enemy says,

Keep fighting, keep encouraged,

Keep traveling on your journey!

Onward!

Passionate Writing: Ignore them!

When you're small, they'll dismiss you.
When you're growing, they'll criticize you.
When you're large, they'll resent you.

So . . .
Ignore "them"
and get on with whatever
God has told YOU to do.
--Rick Warren

You're a newbie, a wannabe, a fledgling, a flunky
Your ideas and dreams and hopes are ridiculed
as impossible or
stupid, and maybe even
foolhardy.

Yet you persist . . .

Then you suddenly find yourself
as a co-laborer, maybe
low on the totem pole,
one who is inexperienced but somehow
made it this far

And THEN . . .

you've kept at it, plugging away,
plodding YOUR path,
YOUR journey,
the way GOD would have you go.

And you see the resentment,
the jealousy sometimes,
the sniffing and whispering
from those who wish they were doing as well

But it doesn't matter.
What does matter is doing God's special work
he planned for YOU!

That's what counts.
That's what's important.

I Cried in Church Sunday

I cried in church Sunday. Hubby was speaking. Talking about battles we face, discouragements that come, hard places to overcome. But he didn't leave us there. He showed us through God's word that we have a heavenly father who will do the fighting, carry us through the discouragements, and lead us every step of our journey.

He talked also about getting older, using our mothers and fathers as examples. And I remembered my mother. She's still alive. Still beautiful. Still desiring to be active even though she is feeble. Softie that I am, I cried remembering the past and how sad it is to think of the future. Of knowing I will lose her. Of never being able to ask her for advice again. Of never going shopping with her again. Of the years gone, oh, so quickly.

Of course, I know I'll see her in heaven. What a comfort.

But I still cry over the earthly loss, I have no doubt, can't be too far away.

Thank you, God, for giving me such a beautiful, caring mother.

I love you,
Mom!
