Sunday Morning Sunshine: The Beauty of Autumn

Remember how fun it was to find acorns?

Squirrels really enjoy them.

A long winter's day food supply!

Who doesn't enjoy apples,

one of the top best fruits!

That includes applesauce, apple butter, apple cider.

Yum!

Who hasn't plunged into a carefully raked-up pile of colorful leaves?

The fun!

The excitement!

Grownups who are, for a few moments,

reliving their childhood activities!

The bonfires where we enjoyed

the not-so-good-for-you hotdogs.

Where family and friends gathered to laugh,

share stories and sit quietly pondering life.

It will be over this year soon in just a few more short days.

Enjoy revisiting these memories or...

create your own.

2021 Autumn will be gone before we know it!

Serious Wednesday: Passionate Writing: When You Wanna Quit

When you want to quit writing...

Don't.

When you're overwhelmed with life and its happenings, and you want to quit, remember:
You never have time to do it right, but you always have time to do it over.

When you think you're a failure because you've tried and failed to nail that contract, remember:
It takes as much courage to have tried and failed as it does to have tried and succeeded.

When you're pressed by others demanding you do it their way, remember:
Follow your own light.

When you're being laughed at, remember:
Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves, for they shall never cease to be amused. (and it will give the others pause. Why are you laughing?)

When writing that book, that article, that devotion, whatever, remember:
When you face the desolate impossibility of writing 500 pages, and a sick sense of failure falls on you that you can never do this, write one page, then another. Give yourself one day's work. That's all that matters today. Then tomorrow, another. That is the way to eliminate the impossibility of ever finishing the book.

When you wonder why on earth you thought you could be a writer, remember:
Writing is now and forever a choice.

When your bests ideas come at night, remember:
You never have to change anything you got up in the middle of the night to write.

When you find yourself comparing yourself and your writing to others, remember:
Comparison is the thief of joy!

Don't quit!

Sunday Sunshine: Quotes and Flags

America was not built on fear
American was built on courage,
on imagination, and on determination to do the job at hand.
--Harry S. Truman

The American flag is the symbol of our freedom, national pride, and history.
-- Mike Fitzgerald

I look forward to a great future for our country
a future in which our country
will match its military strength with its moral restraint,
its wealth with its wisdom,
its power with our purpose.
--John F. Kennedy

Monday Morning Gratitudes

Remembering today:

My mama and father, my mama and daddy in law, my other loved ones, and many, many friends.
the veterans
the soldier boys and girls who died for our country and freedom
that God's in heaven, and as much as the evil one wants us to think otherwise, is in control
that God has given me yet another day.
for a beautiful month.

Blessings!

I Forgot My Rememberer . . .

Forgot to mention a few things coming up.

1) Interview with one of my critique partners in December. Get a glimpse of the life of a writer (from Nevada) who's recently been asked to submit a full manuscript. Exciting!

2) Ready for that contest I promised you? Next week I'll be announcing it. Like chocolates? Then gear yourself up to win.

3) Won't be blogging till next week, but want all of you to know I appreciate you. Thank you for reading my blogs, for being there with your comments, even when I don't get them published.

4) Have a wonderful and relaxing weekend. Happy Thanksgiving!

Quote:
To invite people into our homes is to respond with gratitude to the God who made a home for us.

Blessings.
