Sunday Morniing Sunshine: When A Man Loves a Woman

My husband is one of a kind. That's my opinion, of course, but it's true nonetheless. :)

He's not only intuitive and discerning but also kind, loving, his own man, private and a person with a big heart. He'd go without shoes rather than deny me something I truly wanted. He picks the best cards and seldom forgets holidays, special occasions, and plain everyday thoughts of something to make me smile.

Hence:  this wildflower, end-of-the-season bouquet he picked this week for me. No, they didn't last long, but they gave me a smile, a warm, happy moment, and he knew it. That was enough for him...

I love this man!

He brings sunshine into my life!

Rambling Friday: Music Makes Me Happy

I love music. Why, you ask?

It makes me happy.

I can smile again

It gives me a chance to exercise, breathe deeper:

I want to dance, or sing, or laugh out loud.

When my spirit is down or sad,

Positive music uplifts me.

I forget my troubles for a bit

and rejoice in my space of relief.

When I need renewed in spirit--

I turn to spiritual music.

I draw nigh to God once more,

I leave my burdens at His feet,

I trust once more,

I lean on Him,

I grow to love Him more

and feel assurance once again of His love for me.

Question for you:

How does music affect YOU?

Sunday Morning Sunshine: Sending a Smile Your Way

"Grandma, look!"

In his child-like innocence, he was sharing love with me.

In this time of Stay-at-home orders,
let's share love!

Through your masks, let your eyes convey happiness!

Speak words of kindness. They never go out of style!
Thank you
You're welcome.
Please.
How are you today?
Have a good day!

Call someone.
You don't have to talk for a long time.
Just listen and encourage.

Send a card.
To an ailing person.
To a normally shut-in person.
To a friend.
To someone celebrating a milestone.

Pray for someone.
Yourself.
Loved ones.
Friends.
Our country.
Let's share some love!

Sunday Sunshine: Posies Make Me Smile

God has created a beautiful world!
Take a look at some of his handiwork:

So this happened.
I planted six of these pots w/petunias and other accents.
Love!

Dogwood blossoms are just totally awesome.
See our horse in the background?

Remember, as kids, sucking the honey from wild honeysuckle?
These tame ones always put on a spectacular display!

Is there anything more breathtaking than these stunning Rhododendrons?

Happy Posie Day!

Twinkies and Root Beer

A little boy wanted to meet God. He knew it was a long trip to where God lived, so he packed his suitcase with Twinkies and a six-pack of Root Beer and he started his journey.

When he had gone about three blocks, he met an elderly man. The man was sitting in the park just feeding some pigeons.

The boy sat down next to him and opened his suitcase. He was about to take a drink from his root beer when he noticed that the man looked hungry, so he offered him a Twinkie.

The man gratefully accepted it and smiled at boy. His smile was so pleasant that the boy wanted to see it again, so he offered him a root beer.

Again, the man smiled at him. The boy was delighted! They sat there all afternoon eating and smiling, but they never said a word.

As it grew dark, the boy realized how tired he was and he got up to leave, but before he had gone more than a few steps, he turned around, ran back to the man, and gave him a hug. The man gave him his biggest smile ever.

When the boy opened the door to his own house a short time later, his mother was surprised by the look of joy on his face. She asked him, "What did you do today that made you so happy?

"He replied, "I had lunch with God." But before his mother could respond, he added, "You know what? God's got the most beautiful smile I've ever seen!"

Meanwhile, the elderly man, also radiant with joy, returned to his home. His son was stunned by the look of peace on his face and he asked," Dad, what did you do today that made you so happy?"

He replied, "I ate Twinkies in the park with God." However, before his son responded, he added," You know, he's much younger than I expected."

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Embrace all equally!   ~author unknown~

Thanks for touching my life!

Sunday Morning Peace

God sends children for another purpose than merely to keep up the race:

  • He wants to enlarge our hearts and make us unselfish and full of kindly affection and sympathies

  • He wants to give our souls higher aims

  • He wants to call out all our faculties to extended enterprises and exertion

  • He wants to bring round our firesides bright faces, happy smiles, and loving tender hearts.
Blessings!
