Rambling Friday: Take a Break

As most authors know, or soon will if they're newbies, most writers benefit from an occasional break.
That includes short--and long--periods of time. Whatever each individual decides is long enough is a personal choice. And it's necessary.

Why? Because resting for a period of time clears our minds, and, sometimes, it gives us a new perspective in eyeing our writing.

Taking a break doesn't mean you can't think about your writing. In fact, after your break, you can critique your work and perhaps improve what you've written. You might even decide to add a new element to it or change direction than you'd previously planned.

If you've struggled with what you've already written, it might give you clarity in seeing what is the problem. Resting may renew your creative juices so that you can proceed and not force your writing. And it may also give you the courage to scrap what you've written and begin fresh.

If you haven't had a break in a l-o-n-g time, think about it, plan for it, and take that break. You need it. You deserve it. And you'll be better for it.

Happy writing!

Sunday Morning Peace: New Beginnings!

Remember not the former things,
neither consider things of the old.

Behold, I will do a new thing;
now it shall spring forth;
shall you not know it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.
Isaiah 43: 18 & 19

Shall not God lead us in the way we should go?
Don't look back.
Always forward, with eyes fixed on the goal God has given us.
It may be a surprise: a new thing,
but surely God will give it.
a way through the doubts and fears,
and blessings (not a RIVER but RIVERS)!

Looking ahead...

Important and Not so Important Tidbits

2018
New Beginnings!

What's going on?
Here are some thoughts I have about pepping up my blog:

* Readers Views -- where I invite readers
(one a month, unless, of course,
they grow outrageously popular!!)
where readers can share positive thoughts about
what it means to be a reader,
and other fun and important things.

* Pepping up a few contests and Giveaways
this year.
After all, who doesn't love prizes?

* News, news and more news.
About what?
Where I'm at in my writing,
opportunities for YOU!,
whose blogs I'm visiting.
Pre-knowledge of contests and books before the general public.

* And more meaningful, serious and not-so-serious posts

Other stuff? Maybe.

I hope to begin my newsletter.
I hope to participate more on other's sites
I hope to encourage and help out on writing groups.

Can I do all of it?
We'll see.
I'll keep you updated...

Blessings!

A New Month: What's in Store?

That's a good question to ask myself:
What's in store for February?

Of course, I don't know for certain,
but I can predict (rightly or wrongly),
I can plan,
make another list,
and WORK HARD
to accomplish.

* It's Valentine's Month, the love month, so...
I'm looking forward to taking and spending a bit of special time with
the love of my life.

* I'm planning to near the finish line writing my second WWII novel,
A Flute in the Willows

* Planning to enjoy two birthdays this month,
Son #1's and hubby's.

* Want to draw closer to God, stay loyal and faithful.

Do you have any special plans for February?

Blessings!
