Sunday Morning Sunshine: I Am Blest

From vegetables and eggs,
monthly gifts of food supplies
peppermints, cheese, meat and gift cards
cakes and pies and candies
DoTerra Essential Oils
Cards of love and appreciation
prayers
support
kind words

and even a porch swing!

Our church family has been wonderful!
And in this month of October
when churches show appreciation for their pastor and his family,
our church has encouraged and blest us
with their kind endeavors to show love!

Our hearts are filled with gratitude!

Sunday Morning Sunshine: This is October

I love this poem; it speaks to me!

Enjoy!

A Vagabond Song

THERE is something in the autumn
that is native to my blood
Touch of manner, hint of mood;
And my heart is like a rhyme,
With the yellow and the purple
 and the crimson keeping time.

The scarlet of the maples
can shake me like a cry
Of bugles going by.
And my lonely spirit thrills
To see the frosty asters like a smoke
upon the hills.

There is something in October sets the gypsy blood astir;
We must rise and follow her,
When from every hill of flame
She calls and calls each vagabond by name.

Sunday Sunshine: Sing Me A Song

A Vagabond Song

THERE is something in the autumn

Rambling Fridays: Birthday Blessings

Well, it's here. Shhh! Another birthday has arrived. Another year older. I surely don't feel older
although the years might just show up on me. :)

But as one famous person phrased it: I'm not ashamed of every wrinkle. I earned it and want to spend the rest of my years, however long or short, enjoying what I've learned, remembering all the good times.

And after saying all that, I realize how blest I am.

Besides the privilege still being alive, I'm thankful for:

* All the experiences we've had. In all of our ministry and travel, we've seen so much of our country, enjoyed the memories we've made together (my hubby and I and our boys and grandboys). We've been to more than 3/4 of the states and a few countries, and feel truly privileged to be able to share them together.

* Having a wonderful, patient with me, loving and caring husband. He's the best: a hard worker surprises me with nice notes, cards, flowers, gifts and even a clasped hand or smile that still melts my heart.

*  Two ornery, stinking-cute, adorable sons. Were they irritating at times? Oh, yes! Have they always done what I wanted them to do? Nope, but they're mine while on earth and mean the world to me.

*  One of the best blessings I've ever had was the gift of grandchildren. I longed for them so much and feared it would never come to pass, then God gave me three wonderful grandboys. My heart overflows with gratitude.

* Last, but definitely not least, is the privilege I have of loving and serving my God. He's been a wonderful Savior, a comforter, my strength, my hope, my ever-present help.

These are just a few reasons I'm thankful today. These are some of the best gifts I've been given in my life. This list is a very good reason to thank God for His love and generosity to me.

Have a great weekend!

Rambling Friday: My Crazy Family

I love these people so much.
Even though they're crazy enough to dress like this.
But their fun and enjoy doing things together
whether traveling with this grandma (and grandpa),
swimming like they belong in the water,
flea-marketing,
playing games together,
yard-working,
whatever.

So, yeah, they're just a bit crazy.
But they're mine,
and I love them dearly!

Happy October!

Sunday Sunshine: Sing to Me, Autumn!

Beautiful!

Sing to Me, Autumn
by Patricia Cisco

Sing to me, Autumn, with the rustle of your leaves.
Breathe on me your spicy scents that flow within your breeze.

Dance with me, Autumn, your waltz that bends the boughs of trees.
Now tell me all the secrets you've whispered to the seas.

Sleep with me, Autumn, with your enchanting spellbound ways
Let your yellow harvest moon shimmer in our eyes.

Kiss me, Autumn, with your enchanting spellbound ways
That changes all you touch into crimson golden days.

Love me, Autumn, and behold this love so true.
That I'll be waiting faithfully each year to be with you.

Rambling Friday: October means...

Explosions!

With leaves, of course!

Colored leaves, hundreds--no, thousands, millions of them!
Red, green, yellow, orange and brown.
Fluttering in the wind, floating to the ground.
Crackling in our ears.
Made just for kids--and grownup kids, too, to jump in, play in, walk in.
Crunching under our feet.
Assaulting our noses with fall-ish smells.
Scenting the air with smoky scents.
Cushioning our bodies and outstretched arms as we gaze into the blue, blue skies of Autumn.

Happy Autumn!

Sunday Sunshine: October Harvest

October is a month of Harvest.

As a reminder, let's reflect on these scriptures:

"The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few."  --Matthew 9:37
Let us remember to work for God's kingdom.
Be examples.
Share God's love by actions and word.
Forgive.
Love.
Be kind.

"Say not, There are four months then comes the harvest.
Behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes and look onto the fields,
for they are white already unto harvest."  --John 4:35
Don't be deaf and dumb to God's call to share the gospel in
the way he wills for you to do.
Realize that the time of reaping
(sharing God's word)
is now.
Not tomorrow.

"Let us not be weary in well-doing,
for we shall reap if we faint now."  --Galatians 6:9
Cast your cares upon him who is forever strong and enduring.
Don't faint with your good works or be discouraged.
God does not judge us for what we've accomplished,
but how hard we've tried.

How can YOU improve your service for God?

Abundant Blessings!

Rambling Fridays: I Forgive

I forgive...
A definitive action
A choice
God's will
Best for me
Peace

Even when...
no apology is given
I'm accused falsely
lies are told
I don't want to forgive

Because...
It's God's command
God knows its best for my heart and for my physical
It sets an example
God loves me and knows what's best.

If any man forgive not his brother, then the heavenly Father will not forgive him.--The Bible

Monday Morning Gratitudes

My first "Grateful Post" for November, I am thankful for:

Understanding from friends and family
health that has so far been fairly good
warmth for these coming colder days
the good times we've spent with family this year
the way God has blessed us in so many ways
how he has what seemed major problems disappear into mere dots of very little.

Blessings!

Sunday Morning Peace: Success

Random quotes

Sticks in a bundle are unbreakable
--Kenyan proverb

I'd rather be a failure at something I love
than a success at something I hate.
--George Burns

Those too big for their britches
will be exposed in the end.
--anonymous

The road to success is not straight.
There is a curve called Failure,
A loop called Confusion,
Speed bumps called Friend,
Red lights called Enemies,
Caution lights called Family,
And you will have flats called Jobs.

BUT, if you have a spare called Determination,
An engine called Perseverance,
Insurance called Faith,
And a driver called Jesus,
You will make it to a place called Success.

Philippians 4:13: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
